A research institute built in partnership between Uzbekistan and Korea: applied research for industry, modern laboratories and training to an international standard.
A blended financing model
Construction is funded by a 40 million dollar concessional loan from the Export-Import Bank of Korea and a 7 million dollar grant from KOICA.
Staff are trained in Korea
Uzbek researchers study on the UST-KRICT School master's and doctoral programmes and take practical training in KRICT laboratories.
Mission and objectives
The institute exists to provide the scientific basis for Uzbekistan's chemical industry to move from exporting raw materials to making high-value products.
Main objectives
- Carrying out applied research and developing technological solutions for industrial enterprises.

- Training highly qualified researchers and engineers for the chemical sector.
