Center for Collective Use of Analytical Equipment

Main goal of the Center

To transform the Center for Collective Use of Analytical Equipment into a scientific infrastructure center that provides high-quality analytical services to all of the institute’s research laboratories, other research organizations, higher education institutions, and industrial enterprises; builds modern scientific competencies; can determine product quality and safety indicators using modern instrumental methods; and sustains a significant part of its activity financially through revenue from its services.

Over the five-year period, one of the Center’s key strategic tasks is to obtain accreditation in the established manner, based on a modern analytical equipment base, qualified specialists, a quality management system, and appropriate testing methods, and to build the capacity to:

• carry out the tests needed to assess the conformity of household consumer products with established requirements;

• determine quality indicators of fruit and food products;

• issue the official test reports required for conformity and quality assessment procedures;

• organize relevant certification services where permitted by law and within the scope of accreditation.

Six strategic areas of the Center’s activity

1. Research services

Providing research by the institute’s laboratories and external scientific organizations with high-precision analytical data.

2. Analytical services for industry

Providing factories and enterprises with analysis of raw materials, products, semi-finished products, waste, and other samples using modern analytical methods.

3. Education and professional development

Organizing short- and long-term theoretical and practical courses for bachelor’s, master’s, and doctoral students, faculty, laboratory specialists, operators, and technical staff.

4. Development of scientific and technical competencies

Training the Center’s staff in internationally recognized analytical methods, operation of modern equipment, and data processing and interpretation.

5. Accreditation, quality assessment, and certification services

Ensuring the Center meets accreditation requirements in the relevant areas, building a testing base for determining product quality and conformity indicators, and taking part in certification processes in accordance with the established procedures and requirements of the competent authorities.

This area will be developed step by step for the following product groups:

• household consumer products;

• fruits and fruit products;

• food products;

• agricultural products;

• other consumer and industrial products, where necessary.

6. Financial sustainability and business model

Gradually covering the costs of equipment operation, maintenance, calibration, consumables, and other operating expenses with revenue from services, and enabling the Center to develop on its own resources.
