<p>The Korea Research Institute of Chemical Technology (KRICT), founded in Daejeon in 1976, is UzRICT's principal scientific and technical partner. It helps shape the research programme, select laboratory equipment and train researchers, and it leads the project management consultant (PMC) consortium.</p>

Korea International Cooperation Agency (KOICA)

Grant provider and coordinator

<p>The Korea International Cooperation Agency (KOICA) has granted the project 7 million US dollars. The funds go to the master plan, capacity-building programmes and joint research projects. The agency's office in Uzbekistan coordinates the work between the participants.</p>

Export-Import Bank of Korea (EDCF)

Concessional lender

<p>The Economic Development Cooperation Fund (EDCF) at the Export-Import Bank of Korea has provided a concessional loan of 40 million US dollars for the institute building and its laboratory equipment. The loan falls under an agreement signed with the Ministry of Finance of the Republic of Uzbekistan in 2021.</p>

JSC O'zkimyosanoat

Client and founder

<p>JSC O'zkimyosanoat is the client for the project and is responsible for setting up the institute's operations. The company contributes its own share and takes on the obligation to repay the EDCF loan. The institute's research is applied first at the company's chemical plants.</p>

UST-KRICT School — University of Science and Technology (UST)

Master's and doctoral programmes

<p>The UST-KRICT School, part of the University of Science and Technology (UST), offers Uzbek researchers master's and doctoral programmes in three fields: chemical materials and processes, green chemical processes, and medicinal chemistry and pharmacology. Graduates return to Uzbekistan to work at the institute.</p>
